Joya de Ceren is the only world heritage that El Salvador has. Its a old mayan city buried for the ashes of Loma Caldera. That's why they call it the Pompeii of America, it is the only place in the Mayan world where you can see the true homes of the most humble Mayans, the farmer, the artisan, the shaman and the communal houses.

San Andre

San Andres is a pre-Columbian site in El Salvador, whose occupation began around the year 900 BC as an agricultural town in the valley of Zapotitan in the department of La Libertad. This early establishment was vacated by the year 520 AD because of the enormous eruption of the caldera of Lago Ilopango, and was occupied again in the 5th Century, along with many other sites in the valley of Zapotitan. Between 600-900 AD, San Andres was the capital of a Maya polity with supremacy over the other establishments of Valle de Zapotitan.

Tazumal.

Tazumal is a pre-Columbian archeological site in Chalchuapa, El Salvador. Tazumal is an architectural complex within the larger area of the ancient Mesoamerican city of Chalchuapa, in western El Salvador. The Tazumal group is located in the southern portion of the Chalchuapa archaeological zone. Archaeologist Stanley Boggs excavated and restored the Tazumal complex during the 1940s and 1950s. Archaeological investigations indicate that Tazumal was inhabited from the Classic period through to the post-Classic and that the site had links as far afield as central Mexico, the northern Yucatan Peninsula and lower Central America.

Itinerary

We begin by picking you up at your hotel, driving Joya de Ceren, is the firts stop we made, takes 40-minute to one hour do the site..

We return to the car and drive around 10 to 15 minutes to next site is San Andres Mayan ruins, the political site of Joya de Ceren it is a small site but the museum is nice, the site we can do in around 30 minutes.

the for luchn we have 2 different option, lunch at the coatepeque lake or Santa Ana city, after lunch we visit Tazumal and Casa Blanca return to your place. And then we'll return to your destination.
