During the chocolate tour, you will be able to taste the cocoa fruit, taste its seeds after the roasting and during the processing at the mill. Ever done chocolate from raw seeds before?
Cocoa and Coffee Tour Itinerary
We start our trip early in the morning and depart towards the indigenous town of Nahuilingo. We meet the local guide who explains the cocoa tour and takes us to the local archaeology musuem and then to the Cocoa Plantations.
Before noon we go to our guides house where the local artisan chocolate lady shows us the process from scratch. After we finish our chocolate experience we depart towards Ruta de las Flores and stop at a nice restaurant to have lunch.
At around 1pm, we visit the town of Ataco and then we depart towards our Coffee plantation. There we take the coffee tour which shows us all the different machines and steps taken to process the coffee bean and we finish our tour with a nice cup of local coffee.
. No food or drinks provided by us. The cocoa tour has an extra fee of $10 per person paid to the local tour organizers. The coffee tour has an extra fee of $5 per person paid to the plantation guide.
